A small lab that publishes its failures.
Aydeus Lab started as a private research project: one trader looking for a strategy good enough for a funded prop-firm account. Along the way we built the tools to tell a real edge from a beautiful bug. This site publishes what those tools find.
How we work
The coding and the test runs are done by AI research agents. That makes the lab fast; it also means the lab needs rules that the agents cannot talk their way around. So every test follows a written standard, the twelve gates, and every number on a page comes from a saved output file.
When a result looks too good, a second agent audits the first one's code before anything is published. Several of the results on this site are exactly that: an exciting backtest from one agent, and the bug another one found in it. We publish both, because the bug is the useful part.
Where a test is pre-registered, the rule, the parameters and the cost model are frozen and hashed before the data they will be judged on is opened. Holdout data is opened once.
What we test
Strategies that many traders ask about: setups shared on social media and video, rules from trading books, and results from academic papers. We also publish our own research, including the searches that found nothing. You can suggest a strategy.
We run our own systematic strategies too. The same gates apply to them.
How we make money
Today, the site does not earn anything: there are no ads, no paid plans and no referral links, and the prop challenge simulator is free.
If we add referral links in the future (for example to a charting platform or a broker that we measured to be cheap), they will be marked on the page where they appear and listed here. A referral will never change a test result, a verdict or the order in which anything is shown, and we will not publish a test of a strategy, product or firm we are paid by.
What we are not
We are not a broker, an investment adviser or a signal service. We do not manage money for anyone, and nothing on this site is a recommendation to trade.
